A Few Words about Virtual Reality in Education

One of my English language learners, a journalism professor living in the Russian Federation, will soon be attending a conference on Virtual Reality and how it applies to journalism. Over the past several weeks we have been reading and familiarizing ourselves with English VR texts, articles, and nomenclature to assist her in writing a paper for a presentation during the conference.

I had only a cursory  understanding about VR before she implored me of her need to broaden the horizons. The scope of my technological exploits up to this point have included Skype, Google Docs, screencasts, a few random cell phone apps, the PC, and now Bluejeans, Marginal Syllabus and Hypothes.is.

But this is only the beginning!

If you have not already started to investigate about Virtual Reality and how it is already impacting the world of education, ( to a limited degree) take a few moments and search for numerous articles on the web.

I think we are on the precipice of another great technological era.
